Paws for Humanity to host Pet Blessing

All animals welcome!

Three Oaks MI…. September 17, 2022  — Paws for Humanity (14671 Three Oaks Road) will host a Pet Blessing on Tuesday, October 4 at 5:30 p.m. This day is chosen because it is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. It is the custom to celebrate this day by blessing those animals who bring us such joy throughout the year. This event is also being held at Paws for Humanity in gratitude for those service animals who make our lives better by their very presence.

Episcopal clergy, the Reverends Darlene Kuhn (Church of the Mediator in Harbert, MI) and Karen Joy Kelly (St. Paul’s in St. Joseph, MI) will officiate at this special service. “For many years now, I have thought that, while we continue to have pet blessings at our respective churches, there are other animals out there who bring wholeness to our lives through therapy, and others who need homes,” stated Mother Karen Joy Kelly. “It is also a good time to remember the needs of Paws for Humanity at this time as we invite participants and others to consider donating goods including dog treats, carrots, apples, “tuff” toys, towels, or a financial donation,” Mother Darlene Kuhn added.

All animals (including stuffed toy animals) are welcome!

(A SPECIAL NOTE TO MEDIA: Prior to the blessing of pets which is open to the public, there will be special blessing of the animals who reside at Paws for Humanity for their special ministry to the community. At that time the alpacas, Pepe (the lone horse), the three Jerusalem donkeys, various goats, ducks, chickens, cats and five dogs will receive blessings.)

The event is finished.
