Religion & Politics: Why Should Christians Care About Social Justice?
Join us Wednesday, Oct 11, for a discussion on Religion & Politics.
People, including our own members, say the Episcopal Church has become too political. We plan to gather and begin a conversation on this topic.
A potluck dinner will follow the eucharist. All are invited to bring a dish to share.
Discussion speakers include:
- Rev Jay Johnson, All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Saugatuck, MI, will speak on Christianity and Social Justice.
- Rob Burgess, St. Augustine’s, Benton Harbor, MI, will speak, as a lay person, on why social justice is important to him and what is our church responsibility.
- Rev. Darlene Kuhn, Rector, Episcopal Church of the Mediator
- Tim French, Senior Warden, Church of the Mediator, Harbert, MI (Moderator), will speak on why social justice is important to him and to the church.
