The Mediatorite E-Blast

INFORMATION FROM AROUND THE PARISH AND BEYOND

Reverend David Brower

This Sunday is Rev. David Brower’s last Sunday service with the Church of the Mediator. He will host his last Wednesday Eucharist and Bible Study on the 29th of January. While I am glad we are at the end of a successful Rector search, it is bittersweet to say goodbye to David. He has been a fun, patient, steady and very experienced guiding hand for our parishioners, a blessing to our church. The vestry increased it’s roles and responsibilities, learned to make our own choices and to be brave enough to explore new ways to worship. Many of us have learned more in David’s Bible Studies and Sunday homilies than in the last 20 years of church attendance. Thank you for successfully shepherding us through our Rector search. Your counsel to me as the Senior Warden this past year was invaluable. Do not be a stranger to the Mediator. See you at the Garden Party! – Linda Anderson, Retired Senior Warden

Children and Youth Christian Formation

Children and Youth Christian Formation Program. The Children and Youth Christian Formation Program is a multi-generational classroom (atrium environment) located on the second floor across from the Church Office where each Sunday lesson will have age appropriate materials, games, and/or crafts for children and youth aged from 3 through 15. We meet weekly from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. children and youth aged from 3 through 15. We meet weekly from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. and there are other self-directed Montessori-type materials available during this time. Please ask for materials for at-home study if your child/youth is unable to attend during the Atrium Hours. A schedule/Syllabus can be found in the Church entryway noting the lesson plan for the week and the closing schedule. If you have any questions, please see Marilee Roth or email mjrothfarm@gmail.com. Attention Children – Christmas Pageant Coming!

Hear ye! Hear Ye! Calling all children and youth, especially the Angel, Joseph, Sheep, and Donkey types! We are holding the annual Christmas Pageant for the Christmas Eve service at 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve at the Mediator. All children and youth and any willing adults are invited to join us as we present the Christmas story. Lines can be read from the script and do not have to be memorized. There can be more than one Donkey, Sheep, Mouse, Angels, and Shepherds as the lines can be said in unison. There will be help with the reading of any lines for any younger children by an “adult angel” with a microphone. Please come to church between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve to pick out a costume and be given last minute instructions before the service.  Thank you! And Merry Christmas! –Marilee Roth, Children and Youth Christian Formation Coordinator
