Quarterly Financial Giving Statements:   Please pick up your quarterly financial giving statement on the buffet. You can save the church some postage by doing so. Thanks.

Our next Book Study meeting will be on Saturday, November 16th at 10:30 a.m. We will be reviewing Chapter 18:  Rome’s Renewal (1500-1700) and will review any questions on the Reformation from Chapter 17. Please feel free to join us for a lively discussion.

Soup Kitchen:  Scheduled for Friday, October 25 at the Salvation Army in Benton Harbor from 9:30 to 1:00. We already have two volunteers to prepare and help serve. The menu is posted on the Outreach Bulletin Board with all the food items we need. Also, if our dedicated cookie bakers could supply cookies again this month, that would be great! Cookies can be delivered to the church on Wednesday (23^rd) or Thursday morning (24^th) before noon. Monetary donations are always welcome. Thank you, Janada Steffey.

Pet Outreach & Emergency Food Pantry:  All donations to both of these ministries will be delivered the end of October. If you plan on donating, please do so in the next couple of weeks. Thank you.

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study is going on hiatus as we approach one of the busiest times of the year.

Buck Hunger!  Give $1 to the Soup Kitchen during the month of October. You can text buckhunger to 71777, to online:  igfn.us/vf/buckhunger, you can put a donation in the collection plate on Sunday (in an envelope marked “Buck Hunger”) or you can deposit a dollar (or more!) in the glass jar in the Bell Tower. Why? One dollar isn’t much, but all of us together can make a big difference to help our neighbors in need. One in every 6 people in Michigan goes hungry and it is a higher percentage in Benton Harbor. Will $1 make a difference? The SK in Benton Harbor did a small Buck Hunger campaign about 3 years ago (with about 6 churches participating) and raised almost $4,000. If we can get all the groups that volunteer at the SK to collect, we will improve that. For many of the needy, the SK is the bright spot in their day, and it is also for the volunteers too. It surely is the only meal some of them get every day. The campaign will end October 31^st. The strength of the SK is in the breadth of its support. Over 950 different people volunteered at the SK last year. Thank you for any donations you can make. Janada Steffey

A PSA:  Berrien County Sheriff is asking all Berrien County residents to lock their cars and garages at all times. There are a number of people with addictions going into cars at night to steal whatever they can get to feed their habits. While it is especially prevalent in Niles and Benton Harbor, the thieves are starting to go to the resort areas where summer-only residents have garages and houses that are closed up for the season. Unfortunately, some of the stolen items include guns. Please tell your friends and neighbors.

The School of American Music presents Family Concert Series featuring North American Brass Company, a professional brass quintet performing contemporary and classical music in a fun way. The date is October 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of the Mediator. Admission is free. The concert is underwritten by The Pokagon Fund.

Movin’ Against Hunger Walk, Run, Bike, Rock:  Join area church members on October 6, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. for the annual fundraiser to benefit Harbor Country Emergency food Pantry.
